Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in pre-operative, ambulatory and surgical settings.

• Current and valid nursing licensure through one of the following:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas (KS)

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (Pre-Op) provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in ambulatory and surgical pre-operative settings. This role is responsible for assessing patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, and evaluating patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with professional nursing standards and applicable state regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to assigned patients using the nursing process.
• Assess patient needs and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Prepare patients for surgical and procedural care in pre-operative and ambulatory settings.
• Maintain compliance with professional nursing standards, organizational policies, and state regulations.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to promote safe, high-quality patient care.
• Participate in scheduled surgery, PACU, and ambulatory call shifts.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.

Schedule amp; Call Requirements

The position includes a structured call rotation across surgery, PACU, and ambulatory services:

• Surgery Call: Two weeknights, one Friday, and two 24-hour weekend shifts every four weeks.
• PACU Call: One weeknight, one Friday night, and two weekend shifts per month.
• Ambulatory Call: One Friday night and two weekend shifts per month.
