Orthopaedic Surgery Centers of San Antonio is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Preoperative Care team. You will perform preoperative assessments, develop care plans with the surgical team, and educate patients and families about the surgical process.

The ideal candidate has an active RN license in Texas, BLS and ACLS, strong critical thinking, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in preoperative or surgical nursing preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preoperative assessments and evaluations of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the surgical team.

• Monitor patients' vital signs and overall health status prior to surgery.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
• Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including the management of preoperative documentation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards.
