Job summary

The Hospital at Westlake Medical Center is seeking a Pre-Operative Registered Nurse in Austin, TX, to assess, prepare and educate surgical patients prior to procedures. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers and the perioperative team to ensure patient readiness and accurate documentation.

This role requires an RN license in Texas, BLS and ACLS. Experience in perioperative areas is preferred, with day shifts and full-time hours available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Texas RN license or compact license.
• BLS required.
• ACLS required.
• Preferred experience in perioperative, pre-admission testing, pre-op, PACU, or surgical services nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assess, prepare and educate surgical patients prior to procedures to ensure safe, efficient care.

Job Details: Job Location: AUSTIN, TX 78746, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $40.00 - $48.00 Hourly, Job Shift: Day, The Pre-Operative Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, preparing, and educating surgical patients prior to their procedures to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The Pre-Op RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative team members to verify patient readiness for surgery, complete required assessments and documentation, review diagnostic testing, reconcile medications, and provide pre-operative instructions. Serves as a patient advocate and plays a critical role in promoting positive surgical outcomes through evaluation, communication, and coordination of care throughout the perioperative experience.
