Job summary

Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post Surgical Unit on the night shift (7:00pm–7:30am). Full-time, 36 hours per week, with every-other-weekend expectations.

The role requires an ADN or BSN, Illinois RN license, and AHA CPR. You will assess patients, coordinate care plans, educate patients and families, participate in quality improvement, and maintain current nursing practice standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Illinois nursing license.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and collect health data.
• Coordinate patient plan of care to ensure safe, timely interventions.
• Communicate with patients, families, and the care team in person, by phone and in writing.
• Participate in evaluating and improving nursing quality and practice.
• Maintain knowledge of current nursing standards, laws and regulations.

Hourly Pay Range: $36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

What you will do

Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers. Coordinates patient plan of care to assure interventions are consistent, safe, timely and appropriate. Communicates clearly and effectively with all customers, in person, on the phone and in writing. Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs. Participates in evaluating quality and effectiveness of nursing practice by participating in quality improvement initiatives. Maintains professional knowledge in current nursing practice standards, laws and regulations.

What you will need

• Successful completion of an Associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
