Job summary

Shriners Hospitals for Children is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized pediatric care in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This role emphasizes family-centered care for critically ill children, with collaboration across care teams.

Required BSN or in progress, Philadelphia RN license, BLS, and readiness to obtain PEAR, PALS and ACLS within one year. Our team values innovation, learning, and compassionate patient-family support.

Qualifications

• BSN or in progress and an active Philadelphia RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• PEAR, PALS and ACLS must be obtained within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assesses comprehensive data including physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs.
• Involves patient, family and health care team in an individualized plan of care.
• Implements the plan of care in partnership with patient and family.
• Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the patient’s condition and learning needs.
• Evaluates the patient/family’s understanding and response to the plan of care.

Job Summary

Shriners Hospitals for Children is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This role involves delivering high-quality, family-centered care to critically ill children.

Key Responsibilities

• Assesses comprehensive data including physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs and interprets assessment information to derive the diagnosis.
• Involves patient, family and health care team members in formulating a culturally appropriate individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.
• Implements the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family and health care team members.
• Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient's condition and learning needs.
• Evaluates the patient/family's understanding of and response to the plan of care.

Required Qualifications

• BSN or in progress
• Philadelphia RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• PEAR, PALS, ACLS: Obtain within 1 year of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years acute care nursing experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish
