Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women and Children in Hawai'i is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Perioperative Transition department. You will provide comprehensive nursing care during patient assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in an outpatient surgical setting.

Qualifications

• Current Hawai’i Registered Nurse license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS CPR, ACLS and PALS cards.
• One year of recent RN experience with Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery in a hospital or Ambulatory Surgery setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care.
• Act as associate to a charge nurse and progress toward charge nurse responsibilities.

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The Perioperative Transition department provides a wide array of surgical procedures and care in an outpatient setting. Patients requiring attention for medical conditions that can be treated without overnight admission to a hospital are attended to by our team of general and specialized surgery professionals. We provide state-of-the-art technology within a comfortable setting and health care staff who are skilled, knowledgeable and sensitive to patient needs.

Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai’i Registered Nurse license. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR , Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) CPR cards. One (1) year of recent registered nurse experience with Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery in a hospital or Ambulatory Surgery acute care setting.

Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of recent registered nurse experience with Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery in a hospital or Ambulatory Surgery acute care setting. Perioperative experience with adults and pediatric patients.
