Job summary

MetroHealth’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit on 4 West in Cleveland is seeking a dedicated RN to care for critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced ICU environment. You will assess and triage pediatric patients, administer IV medications, and perform weight-based dosing with trauma care expertise.

This role requires collaboration with PCNAs, residents, providers, and social workers to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for pediatric patients (newborn to 25 years) in ICU.

• Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 11p-7a/7p-7a; rotating weekends, rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Pediatric (Newborn through 25 years old)
• Critically Ill
• Post-operative Recovery

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Assessment and triage of the pediatric population
• IV medication administration
• Weight-based medication dosing
• Trauma Care
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management

Number of beds on unit:

• 16 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
