Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Pediatric Emergency Department who will apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate safe, therapeutic care for pediatric patients.

The role requires current California RN licensure, CPR/ACLS/PALS certifications, and at least two years of pediatric ED experience, with flexibility to rotate across UCSF Medical Center locations.

Qualifications

• Current American Heart Association CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care to our pediatric population. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams. Carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required. Performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum two years of recent Registered Nurse clinical experience in a Pediatric Emergency Department
• This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• CEN/CPEN certification
• ENPC certification

Licenses/Certifications:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
• Current American Heart Association CPR certification
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
• Current American Heart Association PALS certification
