Job summary

Incredible Health in Patchogue, NY is hiring a Registered Nurse for PCU/Stepdown, with responsibilities for monitoring medium to high acuity patients and coordinating with physicians and care teams.

We welcome candidates with ADN or higher, an active RN license, BLS and ACLS, and experience in stepdown, neurology or cardiac care. Shifts available: day, night, and mid, with full-time, part-time or per diem employment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in nursing (ADN+)
• Active RN license in good standing
• 1 year stepdown/progressive, neurology or cardiac experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association
• Strong hemodynamic monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Proficient with electronic medical record systems

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care for medium to high acuity patients and monitor vital signs, IV drips and other indicators
• Administer medications and execute complex treatment plans accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and case managers to ensure optimal patient care
• Educate patients and families on management of acute or chronic conditions and equipment use (BiPAP/CPAP/Home Oxygen)
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with hospital policies and regulations

Hospitals on Incredible Health are actively hiring and accepting applications in the Patchogue, NY area for the following position: Registered Nurse - PCU / Stepdown. Nurses with experience in any of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply: Bariatric, BiPap monitoring, COVID, CVA, Cardiac Drip Management, DKA patients, High acuity patients, Post cardiac intervention, or Sheath pulls.

• Shift(s) available: day shift, night shift, and mid shift

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree (ADN) or above in nursing
• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license
• 1 year experience in stepdown/progressive, neurology, cardiac, or another medium to high acuity setting preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications from the American Heart Association
• Strong skills in hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation and other advanced nursing care practices
• Proficient in electronic medical record systems

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care for patients with medium to high acuity needs, closely monitoring vital signs, IV drips and other key indicators
• Administer medications and implement complex treatment plans, ensuring that medical orders are carried out accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
• Educate patients and their families on the management of their acute or chronic conditions, including the proper use of equipment like BiPAP/CPAP/Home Oxygen and vital sign or blood sugar monitors
• Maintain timely and accurate patient records, adhering to hospital and departmental policies and regulations
