Job summary

East Cooper Medical Center, part of Novant Health, located in Mount Pleasant, SC, seeks an experienced RN for nights in the PCU. You’ll deliver direct and indirect nursing care, assess and plan for patients from infant to geriatric, and collaborate with the care team to meet hospital goals.

Requirements include an SC RN license, BCLS and ACLS, IV therapy competency, and willingness to float to other units. PALS is preferred; advanced certifications encouraged.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN license in the State of South Carolina.
• Successful completion of nursing service orientation program.
• Attends IV Therapy training and/or demonstrates competency within one year.
• Attends Skills Fair and completes yearly competency checklists.
• Maintains competency and/or certification as required by departmental requirements.
• Must have current BCLS and ACLS certifications.
• PALS preferred.
• Advanced certification in specialty field encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and/or indirect, safe and effective professional nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate health care needs of all patients assigned.
• Provide nursing care to patients from infant to geriatric, as indicated.
• Collaborate with the health care team, be customer focused, and meet unit and hospital goals.
• Provide quality nursing care according to established practice standards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned.
• Be willing/able to float to other (comparable) nursing units, as requested/needed.

What You'll Do

• Under the direction of the Department Director and/or Charge Nurse, provides direct and/or indirect, safe and effective professional nursing care.
• Assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating health care needs of all patients assigned.
• Provides nursing care to a patient population ranging from infant to geriatric, unless otherwise indicated.
• Works collaboratively with the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet unit and hospital goals.
• Provides quality nursing care according to established practice standards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned.
• Must be willing/able to float to other (comparable) nursing units, as requested/needed.
