Job summary

Riverside Health System in Smithfield, Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate total nursing care for assigned patients. You will work under Nurse Manager and Director supervision within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care.

The RN will supervise non-professional staff, coordinate patient education and discharge planning, and ensure quality documentation in line with RHS standards.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma or higher is required; degrees may be substituted as described.
• HS diploma or GED required if Nursing Diploma is held.
• License: RN in VA or a compact state upon hire; CPR/BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs using standard practice.
• Demonstrate unit-specific competencies and equipment training.
• Collaborate with patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care.
• Facilitate safe patient transitions and throughput.
• Adapt education for diverse patient populations and verify understanding.
• Complete all clinical and quality documentation per RHS standards.
• Delegate and prioritize tasks to maintain quality patient care and safety.
