Job summary

Riverside Health in Smithfield, VA seeks a Registered Nurse to oversee the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN will collaborate with the Nurse Manager and Director to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care using evidence-based practices within RHS standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating patient education, ensuring accurate documentation, and leading a team to deliver compassionate, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Licensed registered nurse in Virginia or a compact state at hire
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma acceptable
• CPR/BLS certification at hire
• High School Diploma or GED required if Nursing Diploma graduate
• Strong assessment, planning, and care coordination skills

Responsibilities

• Assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs and develop a plan of care with the interdisciplinary team
• Coordinate with patients and families to implement and evaluate treatments and procedures
• Ensure safe patient transitions and maintain high-quality documentation per RHS standards
• Delegate and supervise non-professional staff to maintain optimal patient care
• Recognize emergencies and allocate resources to meet patient care needs
