Job summary

CoxHealth's Cox Medical Center Branson (Branson, MO) is seeking a PACU nurse to care for post-operative patients of all ages recovering from anesthesia, including general, regional, and local anesthesia. The PACU RN evaluates plans, implements nursing care, assesses pain, maintains hemodynamic and neurological stability, and keeps a patent airway.

Due to rapid changes in a patient’s condition, continuous reassessment is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

Job Description

The post-anesthesia care unit nurse (PACU nurse) provides care for post-operative patients of all ages recovering from anesthesia, including general, regional, and local. The PACU nurse evaluates plans, implements, and documents nursing care, assessment for pain, maintains hemodynamic and neurological stability, and maintains a patent airway. Due to the possibility of rapid changes in a patient's physiological condition, PACU RNs are required to administer diligent care via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and continuous reassessment.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Previous nursing experience preferred

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Required: RN license active in the state of Missouri
