Job summary

TALENT Software Services represents a leading acute care teaching hospital in Saint Paul, MN seeking an experienced perioperative nurse. You will support Pre-Op, PACU, and Phase 2 recovery across both Main Hospital and Day Surgery Center, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires 1-2 years of perioperative experience, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and Epic (Excellian) proficiency. Shifts are 5x8 hours with 1:1 patient ratio and floating between sites.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team
• Educate patients and families on procedures and discharge care
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic (Excellian)
• Float between Main Hospital and Day Surgery Center as needed

This role supports both the Main Hospital and the Day Surgery Center, offering diverse experiences in pre-operative, post-anesthesia, and Phase 2 recovery care. Position Details

• Schedule: 5x8-hour shifts
• Shift Start Times: 5:30 AM, 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 2:45 PM
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Experience Required: 1-2 years
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• Weekend Requirement: As needed
• On-Call Requirement: None
• Block Scheduling: Not available
• Local Candidates: Not accepted; must reside outside the 100-mile radius
• Pending License: Accepted
• RTO: Ideally no more than 5 days
• Floating: Required within scope between Main Hospital and Day Surgery Center
• EMR: Epic (Excellian)
