Job summary

Twin Cities Pain Clinic in Edina seeks an experienced SAU/PACU Registered Nurse to support the Ambulatory Surgery Center. The RN provides nursing care, treats patients pre/post operative, administers meds, monitors vitals, and collaborates with the Nurse Manager to maintain high standards.

This role requires MN RN license, ACLS and BLS, at least 1 year in an ambulatory surgical center, and the ability to float to Burnsville and Maplewood as needed. No evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required; bachelor's preferred.
• Current Minnesota RN license required.
• ACLS and BLS certification through American Heart Association required.
• One year of clinical RN experience in an ambulatory surgical center environment required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical nursing in the ASC and oversee nursing practice.
• Administer medications, monitor vitals, and apply dressings.
• Coordinate with staff using the nursing process to plan care.
• Provide pre-operative teaching and patient preparation.
• Float to Burnsville and Maplewood locations as needed.

Job Summary:

The SAU/PACU Registered Nurse provides clinical nursing in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) and plays a primary role in the efficient functioning of the ASC. Duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Establishes and maintains courteous and cooperative relations with patients and other users of the ASC.
• Oversees the clinical practice of nursing in the ASC including assessing patient care needs and planning the delivery of care utilizing the nursing process in a variety of settings.
• Directs other caregivers in providing patient care.
• Reports variances from standard practice to the Nurse Manager.
• Provides pre-operative teaching as needed, such as explanation of surgical routine and environment.
• Processes patients through the ASC.
• Administers prescribed medications, applies dressings, and monitors vital signs.
• Assesses the level of personnel skills and the availability of resources to meet established patient outcomes.
• Actively participates in attaining ASC goals and mission.
• Responsible for personal and staff development by maintaining nursing competencies.
• Completes all mandatory nursing competencies and educational requirements within a defined time frame.
• Participates in the preparation of staff development programs. Identifies self-learning needs, establishes personal and professional goals to meet those needs and evaluates attainment of set goals.
• Demonstrates a positive, concerned, and sensitive response in the workplace.
• Contributes to the positive atmosphere of the workplace.
• Interacts with patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous, helpful manner.
• Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patient, families, and staff members.

• The position requires cross training to pre-procedure, intra-procedure, recovery, and pre-procedural phone calls.

Supervisory Responsibility:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Nursing required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current Minnesota license as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• One year of clinical experience as an RN in an ambulatory surgical center environment required.

Work Environment:

Compensation & Work Schedule:

• Casual: 0.0 FTE. Monday - Friday
• Non-Exempt.
• Weekday day shift; start times vary from 5:45-8:00AM.
• No evenings or weekends.
