Job summary

The Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas in Irving, TX is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to join our perioperative team. You will provide patient-centered care using the nursing process and collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and staff to ensure safe, quality outcomes.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, Texas RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS, and at least 2 years in PACU or critical care. Shifts are 4 days of 10 hours with a $7,500 sign-on bonus.

• The RN PACU provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations.

Required Skills:

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current TX Nursing License
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years' in PACU or Critical Care experience.
• Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
• Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
• Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.li>
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed.
• Excellent teaching skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior.
