Job summary

United Surgical Partners International is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PACU at Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital in Arlington, Texas. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of hospital experience, including critical care and Pre-Op PACU experience, alongside a valid Texas Nursing License. Qualifications

Job description

Registered Nurse – PACU – Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of the Pre-op/PACU Director.
• Implement the Post Anesthesia Care record, nursing care plan, and assimilation of the patient’s hospital record.
• Implement all physician orders and provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, continuously evaluating patients’ condition, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensure/Certification: Current Texas Nursing License; Current CPR, ACLS; PALS preferred.
• Required Experience:
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a hospital setting.
  • 2 years critical care experience preferred.
  • Pre-Op PACU experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good organizational habits.
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient.
  • Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation.
  • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
  • Excellent teaching skills.
  • Basic knowledge of continuous quality improvement ideology.
