Henry Ford Health is seeking a registered nurse to provide leadership in coordinating and delivering high-quality patient care on Unit 4400 (Orthopedic and Neurosurgery). The role utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, while teaching patients and families and documenting care.

The position requires effective communication with patients, families, and hospital staff, and involves working a midnights shift on a 36-hour, 12-hour shift schedule.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).

Additional Information

UNIT OVERVIEW:

Unit 4400 is a 36 bed Orthopedic and Neurosurgery Unit. We see patients that are undergoing elective or emergent surgery for total joint replacement, fracture fixation, and spinal fusion/decompression. We also utilize an Ortho Rapid Recovery unit to provide quick throughput for certain surgical patients for same-day discharges, working closely with Physical Therapy and our Physicians to provide this service.
