Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit seeks a registered nurse to lead and coordinate bedside care on Unit 4400, a 36-bed Orthopedic and Neurosurgery unit. You will assess, plan, implement and document care, while communicating with the care team to meet patient goals.

The role supports same-day discharge planning and collaborates with Physical Therapy and physicians to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes. BSN preferred with Michigan RN licensure.

Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).

UNIT OVERVIEW:

Unit 4400 is a 36 bed Orthopedic and Neurosurgery Unit. We see patients that are undergoing elective or emergent surgery for total joint replacement, fracture fixation, and spinal fusion/decompression. We also utilize an Ortho Rapid Recovery unit to provide quick throughput for certain surgical patients for same-day discharges, working closely with Physical Therapy and our Physicians to provide this service.
