Job summary

Endeavor Health's Skokie Hospital is seeking a Perioperative Registered Nurse for the OR with daytime hours (6a-3p, M-F) and call responsibilities. The role supports pediatric to geriatric patients, ensuring safety and high-quality care throughout the perioperative period.

BSN preferred; IL RN license and CPR/BLS are required, with a minimum of 2 years perioperative RN experience preferred. Strong computer skills are beneficial for charting and orders.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a state approved school of nursing required.
• IL RN License + CPR BLS issued by American Heart Association.
• 2 yrs RN perioperative experience preferred.
• Basic Computer Skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients during the perioperative period.
• Assess surgical environment for patient safety and intervene as needed with the surgical team.
• May orient and educate new staff and assist with supplies and equipment management.

The perioperative nurse functions as patient advocate. He/she assesses the surgical environment for potential patient safety concerns and intervenes appropriately while working with the surgical team to facilitate the completion of the surgical procedure. The Perioperative Registered nurse may assume responsibility for the orientation of new staff members, educational programs, and securing and maintaining supplies and equipment necessary for the delivery of care.**What you will need:*** Education: + Graduate of a state approved school of nursing required.
