Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an experienced RN - Operating Room to join our Chicago team. You will apply the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, while maintaining current standards and mentoring peers in a fast-paced OR setting.

The role is full-time, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with call requirements including nights, weekends and holidays. A $5K sign-on bonus for prior OR experience is available and opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits are

Qualifications

• Two or more years of nursing experience preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Demonstrates mastery of nursing skills.
• Current Illinois Nursing licensure.
• CPR/ACLS/PALS may be required within six months depending on unit.

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the delivery of nursing care to patients and their families.
• Maintains competency reflective of current standards practice.
• Interacts and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
• Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of nursing practice.
• Integrates evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice.
• Guides and supervises staff in the provision of patient care.
• Documentation is thoroughly and timely completed.
• Selects and handles instruments and supplies used for the operation, passing them to the surgeon.

Hourly Pay Range: $36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Endeavor Health is currently conducting a comprehensive review of our compensation structure. The new minimum for this role will be adjusted to $37.25 base pay hourly rate beginning with the second paycheck in October.

• Assists in positioning and responds to safety of patient.
• Provides for accurate care and handling of specimens.
• Observes, checks and enforces strict standards of asepsis.
• Observes, checks and monitors all equipment used during surgery to confirm that items are functioning properly.
• Document intra operatively in Epic.
• Conducts appropriate surgical counts.
• Selects and handles instruments and supplies used for the operation, passing them to the surgeon.

What you will need

• Two or more years of nursing experience is preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Demonstrates mastery of nursing skills.
• Communicates effectively and is able to guide and supervise nursing personnel.
• Current Illinois Nursing licensure.
• American Heart Association CPR Certification ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required within six months depending on the unit requirements.
