Job summary

Trinity Health Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse to oversee patient care in a Level 2 Trauma Center with 15 operating rooms and an average of 35 cases per day.

Our mission is to deliver high-quality surgical care across acute care surgery, colorectal, general surgery, cardio-thoracic, orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, gynecology, oncology and vascular services, with 24/7 anesthesia support and a Joint Center of Excellence.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan Nursing License is required.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
• BSN degree preferred or must agree in writing to obtain BSN within five years.
• Prior experience in surgery is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care during the designated timeframe.
• Coordinate and evaluate care, teaching and delegation of activities to the health care team.
• Utilize nursing process and therapeutic use of self in patient care.

Education

Trinity Health Oakland is Level 2 Trauma Center, with 15 operating rooms that average 35 cases/day.

Our mission is to provide the highest-quality care to every patient who requires a surgical intervention. We care for both inpatients and outpatients for the following types of elective/urgent/emergent service lines: Acute Care Surgery, Colorectal, General Surgery, Cardio-Thoracic, Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Gynecology, Oncology, and Vascular; as well as off-shift Endoscopy.

Our nursing staff is supported 24/7 by department-based Anesthesiologists.

We have the distinction of being a Certified Joint Center of Excellence as well as a Robotic Center of Excellence.

Summary

The Registered Nurse is accountable for the management of patient care during a designated timeframe. The responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to the other health care team members via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and the environment.

Required Education / Licensure / Experience

• Requires current Michigan Nursing License
• Graduation from accredited nursing program
