Job summary

The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Easton team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care across units, with rotating days and evenings and on-call duties, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care.

Qualifications

• Maryland RN license or eligibility under Compact state rules.
• Associate’s degree required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• AHA BLS certification required at hire.
• Unit-specific certifications: PALS, ACLS, NRP.
• Must reside within 30 minutes for on-call requirement.

Responsibilities

• Function in unit-specific roles (ICU arrest team, ED triage, etc.).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care; advocate for patient/family.
• Provide high quality, safe, patient-centered care and exceed service expectations.
• Report adverse events and near misses to management.
• Demonstrate ability to function in the charge nurse role.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

• Functions effectively in roles specific to unit, such as arrest team for ICU, triage for ED, etc.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care; independently advocating for patient/family needs.
• Provides high quality, safe, patient centered care with focus on exceeding service expectations.
• Reports adverse events and near misses to appropriate management authority.
• Demonstrates the ability to function in the charge nurse role.

Education & Experience

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing required.
• Associate’s degree required. BSN preferred.
• 1 year of previous nursing experience.
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required upon hire.
• Must meet all unit-specific certification requirements (PALS, ACLS, NRP)
• Must live within 30 minutes for call requirement.

Compensation

Flat Rate: $40.50 - 56.99

Other Compensation (shift Differentials If Applicable)

• Base rate, plus any evening differentials will apply.
