Job summary

Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. You will provide preventative and supportive intra-operative care tailored to each patient’s needs and be an integral member of the operating room team.

The role requires a Nevada RN license, an accredited nursing education, and a minimum of 2 years' RN experience in acute care or surgical settings.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nevada (state license required).
• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Acute Care OR Surgical Center as an RN.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Trauma Care After Resuscitation certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide intra-operative care and patient advocacy during surgery.
• Act as patient advocate and verify operative procedures and permits.
• Supervise OR suite, equipment sterility, cleanliness, and readiness.
• Prepare patient physically, mentally, and emotionally for surgery.
• Verify patient identification according to chart and ID band.
• Maintain awareness of OR schedule to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Ensure timely turnover of OR room for next case.
• Assist anesthesia provider as required and document patient records.

Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. • You will be responsible for the general well-being of the patient during the operative period
• You will act as the patient advocate, reviewing operative permit to ensure correctness of procedure. Functions as a member of the surgical team
• You will supervise care of the OR suite and equipment to ensures cleanliness, sterility, operation and availability of all necessary supplies and equipment and assists in opening sterile supplies
• You will prepare patient physically, mentally, and emotionally for surgical procedure and anticipates patient care needs during the procedure
• You will verify identification of patient according to person, chart, and ID band
• You will maintain awareness of OR schedule to ensure patient flow
• Ensure timely turnover of room for next case
• You will assist anesthesia provider as required
• You will document and maintain patient record and chart to ensure an accurate record of medical treatment

Qualifications:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada
• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing.
• Associates Degree in Nursing or higher, BSN preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience in Acute Care OR or Surgical Center as an RN
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt
• Trauma Care After Resuscitation
• Pedi Care After Resuscitation
