CARIN Alliance seeks a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to provide intra-operative surgical assistance and collaborate with the team to deliver advanced peri-operative care during procedures.

Responsibilities include pre-op assessments, tissue handling, exposure, suturing, and maintaining sterile technique, with support for anesthesia and patient education as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of an AORN-recognized RNFA program and certification.
• Current RN license, Nurse Operating Room Certification, and BLS certification.
• Meets RNFA qualifications per AORN standards and maintains licensure/education.

Responsabilités

• Provides intra-operative assistance with tissue handling, exposure, and suturing.
• Supports patient positioning, draping, and post-op transfer with sterile technique.

Role Overview

Provides intra-operative surgical assistance as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA), collaborating with the surgical team to deliver advanced nursing care during procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs pre-operative assessments and collaborates on care plans.
• Offers technical assistance during surgery, including tissue handling, providing exposure, using instruments, achieving hemostasis, suturing, and assisting with room setup and cleanup.
• Supports patient positioning, preparation, draping, and post-operative transfer, while ensuring sterile technique and safety protocols are maintained.
• Participates in intra-operative communication, assists anesthesia, and may provide patient education.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of peri-operative scrubbing and circulating experience or one year as an RNFA.
• Completion of an AORN-recognized RNFA program and certification.
• Current RN license, Nurse Operating Room Certification, and BLS certification.
• Meets all RNFA qualifications per AORN standards, maintains licensure and continuing education.

Preferred Skills

• Two or more years as an RNFA, CRNFA certification, and ACLS certification.
