Registered Nurse Operating Room Circulator at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas:
- Delivers direct and indirect patient care according to standards, considering patient age and risk factors.
- Performs patient assessments upon admission and regularly thereafter, documenting findings for care planning.
- Takes emergency call as assigned.
- Coordinates care across settings and disciplines.
- Uses special precautions when caring for sedated patients.
- Documents all records per policies and procedures.
- Assists in reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
- Provides relevant patient information during transfers.
- Implements physician’s orders safely and effectively.
- Practices sterile techniques diligently.
- Communicates patient responses and interventions to responsible practitioners, ensuring documentation of the nursing process.
- Acts as a patient advocate, addressing physical and psychological needs.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school
License: Current TX Nursing License; BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications within 6 months of hire
Experience: Minimum 2 years in operating room preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
- Effective tactful communication with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
- Knowledge of hospital policies specific to OR nursing.
- Proficiency in OR nursing skills.
