Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced OR Circulator RN to join our orthopedic-focused surgery center. The role emphasizes patient care in the operating room, particularly for orthopedics, with day shifts and no on-call requirements. This full-time position requires a BSN, CT RN license, and at least 2 years circulating experience (1 year in orthopedics).

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during surgery by passing instruments and supplies.
• Coordinate with surgical team to ensure patient safety during operation.
• Monitor vitals and maintain patient safety during the operation.
• Coordinate post-operative care and room turnover.

Job Details

We are seeking a passionate Full time, Permanent Registered Nurse - OR Circulator to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing top-quality patient care in the operating room (OR) setting, focusing primarily on orthopedics.

• Day shift - 4x10s or 5x8s
• No call, no weekends, no holidays

Responsibilities

1. Preparing the operating room for surgery, setting up surgical instruments and equipment, maintaining sterile conditions.
2. Adhering to safety standards and precautions, including verifying patient identity and reviewing surgical procedures to prevent errors.
3. Assessing patients before surgery (e.g., NPO status) and comforting them while alleviating their anxiety.
4. Assisting surgeons during surgery by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
5. Working together with the surgical team, communicating patient information, and ensuring patient safety during the operation.
6. Monitoring patient's vital signs and maintaining patient's safety during the operation.
7. Coordinating post-operative care, including patient recovery and room turnover.
8. Documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing patient care requirements.
9. Participating in ongoing educational activities to maintain competency and improve professional skills.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
2. Current Connecticut state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
3. A minimum of 2 years of circulating experience, including at least 1 year of experience in orthopedics.
4. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
5. Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred.
6. Demonstrated ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
