Job summary

Boston Medical Center Health System in Massachusetts is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality perioperative care in a patient-centered environment. This 24 hours per week role includes day shifts with call requirements, emphasizing teamwork and adherence to evidence-based practice.

The selected candidate will hold a nursing degree (Diploma/ASN/BSN preferred), MA RN license, BLS, and OR experience; CNOR/ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
• Massachusetts RN license to practice
• BLS certification (required)
• CNOR certification (preferred)
• ACLS certification (preferred)
• 2 years' registered nurse experience required
• 1 year OR experience required (2 years preferred)
• Circulating RN experience
• Fluency in another language is a plus

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC-Brighton nursing organization
• Assist the leadership team in quality improvement projects

Position: Registered Nurse

Location: Operating Room

Schedule: 24 Hours per week, Days (Call required)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

• Certification in basic life support (BLS)

• CNOR certification (preferred)

• Advanced Cardiac Life support(ACLS) certification (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years' registered Nurse experience required

• 1 year of operating room experience required (2 years preferred)

• Must be experienced in a circulating role

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities

• Basic computer proficiency

• Fluency in another language a plus

Compensation Range:

$39.02- $90.05

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
