At Bridgeport Hospital

We are committed to providing quality, coordinated, patient-centered medical care tailored to each patient's needs. Our goal is to achieve benchmarks as a Patient Centered Medical Home, ensuring patients are at the center of their care team. All employees contribute to this team approach, promoting access, continuous, comprehensive care, and quality improvement.

We value Nursing Professional Governance and utilize evidence and data to support our practice, always centered on the patient and family.

The RN's care includes:
  • Establishing and maintaining therapeutic relationships with patients and families, incorporating cultural and diversity considerations.
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Respecting patient values, preferences, expressed needs, and healthcare knowledge in holistic care planning and evaluation.

Responsibilities
  1. Standards of Practice: The RN follows the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, utilizing assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver competent nursing care.
  2. Standards of Professional Performance: The RN demonstrates ethical practice, cultural competence, effective communication, collaboration, leadership, ongoing education, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, resource management, and environmental safety, maintaining accountability for their actions.
