The RN provides care that:

Responsibilities

1. Standards of Practice: Guided by the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice (2015), encompassing assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
2. Standards of Professional Performance: Encompasses ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN is accountable for their professional actions.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred. Current BCLS certification required or obtained within one month of hire.

Experience: All RNs encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical program.

Licensure: Licensed and registered in Connecticut. Certification in clinical specialty encouraged.

Skills: Foundational nursing skills; ongoing professional development encouraged.

Physical Demands

Prolonged standing, walking, use of senses; exposure to infectious diseases and emotional stress; ability to assist with patient mobility up to 300 pounds.

Additional Information

Oncology experience preferred.
