Job summary

St. Croix Hospice in Wisconsin is seeking a Registered Nurse On-Call to provide skilled, compassionate care during evenings, nights and weekends within our 24/7 care model.

You will address urgent patient needs, complete after-hours admissions, and guide families with calm, confident care. The 7 days on / 7 days off overnight schedule offers professional autonomy, work-life balance, and the opportunity to make a profound impact when it is needed most.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associates, Bachelors, or Masters).
• 1+ years of recent acute care experience; hospice or home care preferred.
• Current RN license in state of practice and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Respond to triage calls and provide after-hours nursing visits for symptom management, admissions, and care plan updates.
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on evolving needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, offering education and support to patients and caregivers.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation of care, outcomes, and communication.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse On-Call Requirements & Responsibilities

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associates, Bachelors, or Masters)
• 1+ years of recent acute care experience required; hospice or home care experience preferred
• Current RN license in state of practice and CPR certification

• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance

• Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off Monday-Thursday 5:00pm–8:00am and Friday 5 pm-Monday 8 AM
