Premise Health Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking a PRN Occupational Health Registered Nurse to support our Health Center. The role spans day, evening, and night shifts with current need on day shifts; the RN will provide care to client employees and participate in health programs.

The ideal candidate has occupational health experience, strong phlebotomy skills, and the ability to work independently within contract scope. Orientation is required on the day shift.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of practice required.
• Nursing degree from an accredited program; BSN preferred.
• Occupational health certification (COHN/COHN-S) preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS may be required per contract scope.
• At least 3 years as RN in occupational health, ER, or ambulatory care.
• Experience promoting workplace health and return-to-work programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory compliance for clinical operations and complete required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC).
• Evaluate, treat, and prioritize patient care within scope of practice.
• Provide evidence-based care to injured workers and coordinate return-to-work with TPA and client.
• Implement transition-to-work programs for injured workers.
• Perform and document medical tests (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision).
• Administer medications and provide emergency care within scope.
• Maintain equipment and infection control protocols; keep patient records updated.

As a PRN Occupational Health Registered Nurse, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in Richmond, VA. We are looking for a flexible PRN Occ Health RN to support our team across all shifts (6:30am-3:00pm; 2:30-11:00pm; 10:30-7:00am), with the greatest need currently on days. Occupational health experience is strongly preferred. ER, urgent or ambulatory care experience, strong clinical & phlebotomy skills, and ability to work independently. Must be available to attend orientation on day shift.

What You’ll Do

• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.)
• Evaluates, treats, and prioritizes patient care within the scope of practice
• Delivers evidence-based care to injured workers, accelerates return to work, and coordinates case management with the TPA and client
• Implements and monitors transitional duty programs for injured workers
• Performs and documents medical tests, screenings, and treatments as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
• Administers medications and emergency care within legal scope of practice
• Maintains medical equipment, ensures a clean and safe environment, and follows infection control procedures
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Educates patients on health promotion and participates in follow-up care
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals and resources, and company departments on health programs and injury prevention
• Assists with accident investigations, return-to-work programs, and workplace safety initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required; Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred
• Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
• Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management preferred and may be required for some sites
• Current certification with hands‑on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
• At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an occupational health clinic, emergency room, or other ambulatory care clinic
• Experience in strategies to promote and maintain healthy, safe, and productive workplaces, including: partners to identify/mitigate workplace hazards, health screenings/education, fitness for duty, and return to work exams
