Job summary

Premise Health in Barberton, OH is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse for Occupational Health to provide care in our health center. Hours are Mon-Fri, 7am-4pm; experience in occupational health preferred, with autonomy in duties.

Required RN license in the state, 3+ years in occupational health or ambulatory care, and BLS certification; COHN/COHN-S or ACLS may be required depending on site. Competitive hourly compensation is offered.

Qualifications

• Current license as a RN in state of practice
• COHN/COHN-S, Emergency Nursing, or Case Management certification preferred and may be site dependent
• Hands-on Basic Life Support certification required; ACLS may be required by contract scope
• Minimum 3 years as RN in occupational health, ER, or ambulatory care
• Experience promoting healthy workplaces, health screenings, and return-to-work exams

Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory compliance for clinical operations and manage required physical evaluations
• Evaluate, treat, and prioritize patient care within the scope of practice
• Deliver care to injured workers and coordinate return-to-work with TPA and client
• Implement transitional duty programs for injured workers
• Perform and document medical tests and treatments (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
• Administer medications and provide emergency care within scope
• Maintain equipment, ensure a safe environment, and follow infection control
• Maintain patient health records and educate on health promotion
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and departments on health programs and injury prevention
• Assist with accident investigations and workplace safety initiatives

As a Full Time Registered Nurse, Occupational Health, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in Barberton, OH. The scheduled hours are Monday - Friday, 7am-4pm. Occupational Health experience strongly preferred; ER or ambulatory care experience. Must be comfortable working autonomously.

What You’ll Do

• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.)
• Evaluates, treats, and prioritizes patient care within the scope of practice
• Delivers evidence-based care to injured workers, accelerates return to work, and coordinates case management with the TPA and client
• Implements and monitors transitional duty programs for injured workers
• Performs and documents medical tests, screenings, and treatments as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
• Administers medications and emergency care within legal scope of practice
• Maintains medical equipment, ensures a clean and safe environment, and follows infection control procedures
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Educates patients on health promotion and participates in follow-up care
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals and resources, and company departments on health programs and injury prevention
• Assists with accident investigations, return-to-work programs, and workplace safety initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required; Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred
• Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
• Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management preferred and may be required for some sites
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
• At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an occupational health clinic, emergency room, or other ambulatory care clinic
• Experience in strategies to promote and maintain healthy, safe, and productive workplaces, including: partners to identify/mitigate workplace hazards, health screenings/education, fitness for duty, and return to work exams

Premise provides its reasonable and genuinely expected range of compensation for this job of $31.60 - $39.50 per hour. A number of factors will influence the rate offered for this position, including your experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors.
