Job summary

Saint Clare's Health in Denville, NJ, is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse for the Birthplace unit. The RN provides direct patient care during antepartum and postpartum periods, using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.

You will guide patient/family teaching and supervise nursing staff to ensure safety and quality. The role requires a valid RN license in the state, BLS within 30 days, NRP within 90 days, and fetal monitoring competency within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current.
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• Basic Fetal Monitoring required within 60 days of hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Direct patient and family teaching and guide other nursing personnel while maintaining birthplace standards.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and ensure newborns and mothers receive appropriate care antepartum and postpartum.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Provides for a safe environment for patients and visitors. Utilizes the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current
• Basic Fetal Monitoring upon hire within 60 days of hire and maintain current

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $43.26 to $54.09. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
