Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Level III NICU. The role delivers patient care using the Nursing Process, focusing on the care of newborns from 22 weeks gestation and up. You will work PRN, 7:00am – 7:00pm, with a 6-shift cycle every six weeks.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma in Nursing or an Associate degree, with BSN preferred, and have NICU experience. You will complete required certifications within defined timeframes and participate in ongoing

Qualifications

• Diploma in Nursing required or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program.
• BSN preferred.
• One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
• One year of NICU experience strongly preferred.
• RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required.
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and
• NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days and
• NRPA – Advance Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days and
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention training required within 90 days and maintained annually

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
