This role is perfect for a compassionate RN who enjoys the rewarding environment of neonatal care, supporting approximately 800–900 births per year. You will work in an 8-bed SCN, providing specialized care to newborns while having the peace of mind that comes with 24/7 Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) and Neonatology availability. As a key member of our maternal-child health team, you will manage Level 2 acuity patients, ensuring a safe and supportive start for our smallest patients before they transition home or are stabilized for higher-level care.

What you will be doing

  • Patient Stabilization: Utilize NRP and STABLE protocols to assess, stabilize, and monitor neonates requiring extra medical support.

  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner closely with on-call Neonatologists and 24/7 NNPs to execute care plans and ensure patient safety.

  • Acuity Management: Manage Level 2 patients effectively; collaborate on the coordination of air-lifts for high-acuity patients requiring transfer to major neonatal centers.

  • Family-Centered Care: Provide education and emotional support to parents and families during their stay in the SCN.

  • Quality & Safety: Maintain rigorous safety standards and stay current with neonatal best practices and certifications.

What you must have
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of specialty experience in a Special Care Nursery (SCN) or NICU setting.

  • Certifications: Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications are required.

  • Licensure: Current Registered Nurse License.

Nice to have
