Job summary

Mission Regional Medical Center in Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse for NICU care on the night shift. You will deliver safe patient care using the nursing process and guide patient/family teaching while mentoring other nursing staff.

Current RN license, BLS and NRP certificates are required; 1 year in acute care with NICU experience is expected; BSN is preferred. A sign-on bonus is available to qualified candidates to join a committed, award-winning team.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• NRP (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• One year experience in an acute care setting with experience in nursery or NICU environment.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Provide for a safe environment for patients and visitors.
• Utilize the chain of command to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to neonates from post delivery stabilization through discharge.
• NICU: provide direct patient care within the scope of practice with assistance to neonates.
