Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood seeks a Registered Nurse - NICU to ensure high-quality, efficient patient care in a busy Level II/III NICU. You’ll join a supportive team dedicated to patient and family-centered care, with opportunities to impact outcomes across the NICU and newborn nursery.

Required are a Texas RN license (or Compact), BCLS, NRP within 90 days, and at least 1 year of NICU experience. STABLE is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN license in Texas and/or current Compact License.
• Current BCLS certification required.
• NRP certification within 90 days of hire.
• STABLE preferred
• 1 year of current NICU experience required

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for NICU and Newborn Nursery patients.
• Develop and implement NICU policies and procedures to guide services.
• Meet standards of Practice for Level II/III NICU and manage staff, supplies and equipment.
• Participate in activities to plan, measure, and improve quality of patient care.
• Perform neonatal assessments and nursing care for NICU and newborn patients.
• Conduct gestational age assessments and use department equipment appropriately.
• Engage in mandatory unit education activities.
• Assist in discharge planning including parent teaching.

Job Summary And Qualifications

We are seeking a Registered Nurse - NICU for our facility to ensure we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.

What you will do in this role:

• Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients in the NICU and Newborn Nursery.
• Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures or the NICU that guide and support the provision of services
• Responsible for meeting the standards of Practice for a Level II and Level III NICU and managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment.
• Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care.
• Performs neonatal assessment of NICU patients and Newborn Nursery patients.
• Performs nursing care of NICU patients and Newborn Nursery patients.
• Performs gestational age assessments.
• Demonstrates appropriate usage and understanding of equipment used in the department.
• Participates in mandatory unit education activities
• Participates in the discharge process to include parent teaching

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
