Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical unit. This full-time role includes day and night shifts with a 3x12-hour schedule option. Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus up to $20,000 for experienced RNs, plus up to $10,000 for new graduates.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit.
• Communicates with physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
