Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) for 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a). The CCU RN provides direct care to adults with cardiac conditions, using the nursing process and collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid state RN license.
  • Current BLS certificate on hire and maintained.
  • ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
  • Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
  • Ventilator management experience preferred.
  • BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care to adults in the CCU, monitor cardiac status and implement interventions.
  • Apply the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Monitor cardiac status, vital signs, and changes in patient condition.
  • Communicate promptly with physicians and healthcare teams regarding clinical changes and results.
  • Educate patients and families on cardiac disease processes, treatments, and care plans.
  • Supervise and collaborate with other nursing personnel, maintaining CCU standards of care.
  • Document all care and observations accurately while upholding HIPAA compliance.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and rapid changes in patient condition.

Registered Nurse RN - Coronary Care Unit (CCU)

Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME

Full-time | Nights | 7p-7a | 12-Hour Shifts

The CCU Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct, high-quality patient care to adults with cardiac conditions in the Coronary Care Unit. Utilizes the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to monitor cardiac status, respond to changes in patient condition, and implement evidence-based interventions. Collaborates with physicians and the healthcare team, directs patient and family education, supervises other nursing personnel, and ensures CCU standards of care, patient safety, and confidentiality are consistently maintained.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
  • Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
  • Ventilator Management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
