Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Coronary Care Unit on night shifts. You will provide direct patient care for adults with cardiac conditions, using the nursing process and collaborating with physicians to ensure high-quality care.

We welcome new graduates with a structured residency, hands-on training, and dedicated preceptor support to build confidence and clinical skills.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certification required at hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to adults in CCU, monitor cardiac status and implement interventions.
• Apply the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Monitor cardiac monitoring, vital signs, and changes in condition.
• Communicate with physicians and healthcare teams regarding clinical changes and results.
• Educate patients and families on cardiac disease processes and care plans.
• Supervise and collaborate with nursing staff, maintaining CCU standards.
• Document care and observations with HIPAA compliance.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and rapid changes in patient condition.

Registered Nurse RN - Coronary Care Unit (CCU)

Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME

Full-time | Nights | 7p-7a | 12-Hour Shifts

The CCU Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct, high-quality patient care to adults with cardiac conditions in the Coronary Care Unit. Utilizes the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to monitor cardiac status, respond to changes in patient condition, and implement evidence-based interventions. Collaborates with physicians and the healthcare team, directs patient and family education, supervises other nursing personnel, and ensures CCU standards of care, patient safety, and confidentiality are consistently maintained.

• Respond effectively to emergencies and rapid changes in patient condition.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
