Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital’s Neuro Intermediate (3B) is a 24-bed neuroscience unit providing care to patients with acute neurological and spine disorders. The Staff Nurse Inpatient role reflects the organization’s mission and values, emphasizing ethical care, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BSN required and active IL RN license.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA).
• Strong interpersonal, collaborative and analytical abilities.
• ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within three years of employment in a clinical nurse role.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation).
• Collaborate with patients, families and health-team members to coordinate care.
• Adhere to ANA standards and Northwestern Medicine policies and regulatory requirements.

The salary range for this position is $34.50 - $55.20 (Hourly Rate)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

Full-Time Days 7am-7:30pm with rotating weekends

CDH Neuro Intermediate (3B)

• 24 bed neurosciences unit providing care to patients requiring medical and surgical treatment of acute neurological and spine disorders
• Neurological conditions include acute and stable traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, stroke, spinal injury, seizure, and acute inflammation or infections of the CNS. Neurosurgical patients include aneurysm repair, CS leaks & lumbar drains, post‑op neurosurgical and spinal patients.

The Staff Nurse Inpatient reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate with others
• Strong analytic abilities
• Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of first day of employment in clinical nurse role.

Preferred

• Experience in Neurosciences
