Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for an inpatient Neuroscience unit. The role involves night shifts (7pm–7:30am) with rotating weekends, caring for patients with acute neurological and spine conditions. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered, with opportunities for tuition reimbursement and comprehensive benefits.

Current IL RN license and BLS are required. ADN is acceptable with a commitment to obtain BSN within three years.

• 24 bed neurosciences unit providing care to patients requiring medical and surgical treatment of acute neurological and spine disorders


• Neurological conditions include acute and stable traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, stroke, spinal injury, seizure, and acute inflammation or infections of the CNS. Neurosurgical patients include aneurysm repair, CS leaks & lumbar drains, post-op neurosurgical and spinal patients.

Staff Nurse Inpatient reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice.

*Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of first day of employment in clinical nurse role.
