Job summary

Trinity Health's St. Mary Medical Center in Bucks County, PA, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med/Surg Oncology unit (MS1D). The 16-bed unit provides private rooms and a focus on quality of care in a fast-paced environment.

This part-time, per diem role requires a BSN, PA RN license, and AHA BLS. The Tier II schedule includes 72 hours per 6 weeks with specified weekend and holiday coverage and a day shift.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• PA RN License required.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identifies barriers to learning, incorporating education into daily care based on age, culture and values.
• Documents admission assessment, reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors effects/outcomes.
• Uses the information management system to enhance communication and documents changes in patient condition to appropriate individuals; prioritizes work.
• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds.
• Recognizes patient special needs and individualizes care; knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral.
• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards and promotes a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Employment Type: Per Diem tier II

Tier II Requirements: 72 hour minimum commitment per 6-week schedule. 3 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. 1 winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) and 1 spring/summer holiday (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day)

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

Unit Overview

Med/Surg oncology unit with 16 beds in private rooms.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.

• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.

• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.

• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds

• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral

• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.

• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
