Job summary

SoftPath Medical is seeking a Med Surg Oncology Nurse for a 12-hour day/night rotating shift. The role emphasizes continuous cardiac monitoring during chemotherapy, management of soft tissue malignancies, and symptom control, with a 1:4 patient ratio.

Travel nursing is preferred but not required; EPIC EMR experience is required. Flexibility to float to units with equivalent or lower acuity and a rotating schedule that may change based on staffing needs are part of this position.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of registered nursing experience.
• Current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients with continuous cardiac monitoring during chemotherapy.
• Manage patients with soft tissue malignancies including diagnostics, chemotherapy, and symptom control.
• Provide symptom management related to disease progression or treatment effects.
• Care for accompanying comorbid conditions and adhere to infection and fall prevention protocols.

Med Surg Oncology Nurse - 12HR Day/Night Rotating Shifts - AYA Opportunity

Shift Information

This position involves a 12-hour rotating schedule covering day and night shifts. Assignments may include days, nights, or a combination, based on the needs of the department. Shift schedules are reviewed every four weeks; however, changes depend on staffing priorities and are not guaranteed.

Patient Care Focus

• Continuous cardiac monitoring during chemotherapy administration
• Management of soft tissue malignancies including diagnostics, chemotherapy, and symptom control
• Symptom management related to disease progression or treatment effects
• Care for comorbid conditions

Strict adherence to infection prevention and fall prevention protocols is emphasized.

Specialized Equipment

• B450 monitors and telemetry systems
• Bladder scanners
• Alaris infusion pumps
• Stryker beds

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of registered nursing experience
• Current BCLS certification

• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred
