Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare in Houston, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinate unit activities during the shift. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and ensure adherence to policies that support safe, efficient care.

The RN will lead nursing staff, participate in care planning, and help maintain clinical outcomes and patient experience in alignment with hospital standards and values.

Qualifications

  • RN license required.
  • BSN required.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Certification within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver high quality, patient-centered care.
  • Exercise judgement and provide direction regarding patient care assignments using established policies and procedures.
  • Operationalize evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Support the achievement of internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance is performed regularly and according to regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
  • Reflect core values when interacting with co-workers, patients, family members, and others in the community to foster an environment where employees are engaged and where patient care is unparalleled.
  • Ensure compliance with evidence-based practices that enhance patient experience and customer service.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other leaders to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.

The Registered Nurse delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordinates all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CN directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Certification within 90 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BSN required
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
