Job summary

Lakeview Hospital is seeking a MICU RN to assess, plan, perform, document, and evaluate professional nursing care. You will provide work direction for unlicensed personnel and support providers with orders and procedures.

You will help coordinate patient care, communicate with families, and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment during 0.60 FTE night shifts with every other weekend rotations.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• Licensed RN in Minnesota or Wisconsin per the stated rules.
• Current ACLS certification.
• CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider.
• Stroke Care NIHSS within 6 months of start date.
• Minimum one year ICU/ED nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, perform, document, and evaluate independent nursing care.
• Provide work direction and oversight for unlicensed personnel.
• Carry out provider orders and assist with diagnostics and procedures.
• Coordinate care communication with patient, family, and healthcare team.

Job description

As a MICU RN, you will assess, plan, perform, document, and evaluate professional independent nursing practice at Lakeview Hospital; to provide work direction for and oversight of the nursing care provided by unlicensed personnel; to perform and document functions such as carrying out the provider’s medical orders; to assist providers with diagnostic and treatment procedures; to provide a safe and therapeutic environment; to coordinate, communicate, interpret, and explain patient care services to the patient, his/her family, health professionals and important others; to perform related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

0.60 FTE. Nights. with every other weekend rotation.

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Licensed as a RN by Minnesota Board of Nursing or has a Wisconsin RN License and Minnesota Boarder State Registry.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)
• Current ACLS certification.
• Stroke Care (NIHSS) required within 6 months of start date.
• Minimum one year RN critical care (ICU or ED) experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Baccalaureate or Master’s degree in Nursing
• Associate Degree prepared nurses enrolled in Baccalaureate in Nursing program.
• Telemetry experience.
