Job summary

Trinity Health's St. Mary Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the MG2 Telemetry unit on a part-time schedule. The role involves direct and indirect patient care, with a 4:1-6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in a telemetry setting.

Expect day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm and ongoing collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Minimum qualifications include a BSN from an accredited program, a PA RN license, and AHA BLS.

Qualifications

• AHA BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document patient condition and care needs.
• Coordinate with the care team during rounds and handoffs.
• Monitor and administer medications per policy.
• Maintain infection control standards and a safe environment.

Tier III Requirements: 144 hour minimum commitment per 6-week schedule. 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. 1 winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day). 1 spring/summer holiday (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day).

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

Unit Overview

Tele monitored patients - unit operates a 4:1-6:1 nurse to patient ratio. Unit contains double rooms and approximately 48 beds.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.
• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.
• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.
• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds
• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral
• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
