Matheny Medical and Educational Center in Peapack, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Medical Trip Nurse position. This full-time role supports off-site patient care during medical trips and coordinates with the primary nurse and physicians to ensure comprehensive preparation and documentation.

The role is Monday–Friday with on-call every eight weeks, and a $10,000 signing bonus for full-time hires. We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical/dental, retirement plan and paid

• Associates degree in a related field required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Responsabilités

Each patient has a primary nurse who coordinates all his/her care needs. Our nurses and nurse managers work closely with our paraprofessional care staff for on-going communication and teaching about each individual patient. We maintain close contact with families and acknowledge their importance as a valued member of the healthcare team.

Matheny currently has a career opportunities available for a Full Time Medical Trip Nurse for Monday - Friday, and on-call every eight weeks Some flexibility is required for additional shifts. Qualified candidates who are hired for Full Time employment will receive a Signing Bonus of $10,000.00. ($5,000.00 payable after completion of six months of continuous employment and the remaining $5,000.00 after completion of twelve months of continuous employment).

Duties of this position include:

• Coordinates scheduling, preparation, and healthcare needs for patients while accompanying them on off-site medical trips.
• Reviews medical history and purpose of the medical trip with primary nurse and/or physician prior to departure. Ensures that appropriate supporting data or information is available such as X-rays, menses or seizure records. Ensures that referrals or prescriptions are available.
• Confirms patient identification to ensure correct patient is transported to medical trip.
• Documents necessary information in the patient’s medical chart related to the medical trip.
• Participates in patient's pre-operative planning meetings with the interdisciplinary team.
• Reports any incident during the medical trip to the Chief Nursing Officer. Completes incident forms for any injury which may occur during the trip.
• Consults with medical personnel during medical appointment.
• Demonstrates competency in providing emergency care.

As a Registered Nurse in a special hospital, performance of additional responsibilities that are not outlined in this job description may be required in an emergency situation. Additional assistance as a result of staff absences or shortages is also required, including additional weekend and/or holiday time.

The salary range for this position is $86,775 - $92,249 annually.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications/Education

• Associates degree in a related field from an accredited college or university required.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university preferred
• Moderate skill level in Microsoft applications required
• Experience working with developmentaly disabled patients preferred

Licensure/Certifications

• Licensed Registered Professional Nurse by the State of New Jersey Board of Nursing required
• Current Certification required.
• ACLS and/or PALS certification preferred.
• IV certification required preferred.
