This position coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, acts as a patient advocate, and works as part of a team with ancillary and non-nursing departments.

Reports to: Department Director

FLSA: Non-exempt

Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

License: Current Registered Nurse license to practice.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

Essential Functions:

• Assess the patient’s condition and nursing care needs.
• Set goals and prescribe appropriate nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs.

• Implement care plans and revise as needed.
• Evaluate patient care outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians and other hospital staff.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies.
• Communicate with patients and oversee care provision.
• Provide education and instruction to patients and families relevant to their condition.
• Accurately document nursing observations, assessments, medications, treatments, and care provided.

Nonessential Functions:

• Maintain facility equipment, supplies, and work areas.
